Events in and around Eddyville

Please join us for our annual spring “Buzzard’s Roost” trail ride in Eddyville, Nebraska on SATURDAY, May 21, 2011. We’ll ride through these scenic and historic canyons, stopping for a sack lunch and continuing on through the “Roost” when we will then conclude the ride with a bbq meal. There will not be hay racks available for this ride. Please be at the Eddyville Rodeo Arena by 10:00 a.m. for directions as to the starting location. We’ll start the ride at approximately 10:30 a.m. The cost is $15 per person. Camping is available and there will be coffee and rolls available before the ride. June 18th and 19th will be the dates for the 42nd annual Eddyville Rodeo. The rodeo is NSRA and MSRA approved with performances starting at 7:30 each night. A dance will follow the Saturday night rodeo.

The 3rd annual Eddyville Mud Drags will be held September 18th at the Eddyville Community Building starting at 1:00 pm. Concessions will be served on the grounds. The contestants are asked to check in by 12:45 pm. Classes will include stock, modified stock, super stock, open and powder puff. All the proceeds will go to the Eddyville Community Building. The fall Buzzards Roost Trail ride is set for Sunday, September 19th. We will ride through scenic Buzzards Roost Canyon. A sack lunch will be served with a BBQ after the rides completion. The cost is $15. Hay racks will be provided for those who do not wish to ride. Please be at the Eddyville rodeo arena by 9:00 am for this great ride. The Eddyville Village Board and the Eddyville Volunteer Fire Dept. will host Soup & Santa, Sunday, December 12th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Eddyville Community Building. The event is a free will offering.
